COMEDIAN NASRA YUSUFF FACES BACKLASH FOR CONTROVERSIAL VIDEO ON MUSLIM MEN

By  |

Renowned comedian Nasra Yusuff sparked controversy with a recent video portrayal of Muslim men during Iftar.

The one-minute clip, shared on social media, depicted Nasra assuming the role of a Muslim man seated on a couch while being served a variety of snacks to break the fast by his wife. However, the video took an opposite turn when Nasra’s character made suggestive remarks, appearing to prioritise sexual gratification over the Iftar meal. “Kuja nikuonyeshe kitu utaanza nayo… Ngoja, sio hii pande. Nakuonyeshea bedroom,” she said.

Shortly after Nasra’s character added, “Iko aje? Sasa ile maneno ulikuwa unasema mi nataka, mi naanza nayo ile chakula chakula… Letea mimi saa hii…

Despite its comedic intent, the clip failed to elicit laughter from a significant portion of Nasra‘s audience, drawing criticism instead for disrespecting the Muslim community, particularly during the sacred month of Ramadan. “Look for better content, this is demeaning and disrespectful especially during this holy month. You have valued YouTube & Tiktok payments more than best deeds you can get in this month of Ramadhan. May Allah guide you & all of us.” Said a fan.

Maybe in your world, but in the real world, no one in his right mind will break his fast with the “act.” An empty stomach doesn’t have time for such things, not to mention the Maghrib prayer one has to observe immediately after breaking the fast…If you are saying this is this how we break out fast, you got it wrong!” Another fan added.

Nasra took to her X to thank those who supported her, “You guys just proved that love will always surpass hate. Thank you for the support. I know I won’t be funny with every content and I won’t be funny to everyone,” she wrote.
