The 13th edition of the highly anticipated Kalasha International TV and Film Awards concluded with glittering success over the weekend, celebrating the Kenyan television and film industry. The event brought together industry filmmakers, actors, producers, and enthusiasts under one roof to recognise and applaud exceptional creativity and craftsmanship.

Popular actress Sarah Hassan scooped the Best Lead Actress In A Tv Drama award, “Extremely honoured and grateful for this award. Thank you to every single one of you who watches Zari. To everyone who voted, to the @kalashakenya jury & @kenyafilmcommission , thank youuuu. Thank you @rashidyabdalla & @loulou_hassan for entrusting this role to me, and to the incredible cast and crew I get to work with everyday, this wouldn’t be possible without you. Nawapenda.”

Actress Brenda Mwai won Best Supporting Actress In A Film, “For such a time as this! Grateful, humbled and honoured! My very first nomination and first win! My God that hears and delivers! To many more. Thank you for honouring me with your votes!” She said.

Celebrated TV producer Daudi Anguka won Best Director and Best Viewers Choice Award for his film Mvera. I would like to take this chance to exceedingly thank you for the love you showed through your support and voting for us in this year’s Kalasha. We managed to bag 5 awards in Mvera  and this wouldn’t have been possible without you. 

The categories we won were Best Make -Up Artist, Best Lead Actress in Feature Film, Best Director, Best Feature, Film, Best Viewers Choice  Many thanks goes to Team MVERA and the AR FILMS fraternity at large for their tireless efforts to making this a success not forgetting the esteemed Kenya Film Commission and the various stakeholders for putting this.
