EDWARD NDIRITU RUNS 42KM LONDON MARATHON IN 10KG RHINO COSTUME TO RAISE AWARENESS 

On Sunday, Edward Ndiritu Lewa’s Head of Anti-Poaching made a memorable appearance at the 2026 London Marathon, and he didn’t blend into the crowd.

Wearing a full 10kg rhino costume, Edward powered through all 42km of the famous route, drawing cheers and turning heads at every stage. Although he’s no stranger to marathon running, this was the first time he crossed the finish line carrying the extra weight of the suit. “It was truly a thrilling race,”Edward shared afterwards.

“Running through the cheers of London while representing the wildlife back home was an experience I will never forget.”

With every step, he sent a powerful message standing tall for rhinos, for Lewa Conservancy, and for the communities on the frontlines of conservation.
