Janet Mbugua has stepped down from her role on NTV’s morning show Fixing the Nation, departing after a little more than a year with the program.

Mbugua made the announcement during her final segment on April 17, where she co-hosted alongside Eric Latiff and Mariam Bishar. Reflecting on her decision, she explained that joining the show felt like a natural extension of her advocacy work. She had already been vocal about national issues during an intense season in the country,

She reassured her audience that she would remain active on her social media platforms to stay connected with them. Mbugua introduced her replacement, Fellaris Wambui, who brings three years of media experience alongside more than a decade in corporate communications and brand management. “Receive her with the openness, curiosity and engagement that you have extended to me and my co-hosts,” Mbugua told audiences.

Wambui acknowledged the weight of the moment, saying, “I’m stepping into very big shoes, but I have been telling myself that each of us have a part to play when it comes to fixing this nation, and I’m here to do exactly that.” She added, “It is a bittersweet entry into this. Janet, you are a woman I have really looked up to over the years.
