Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has donated Ksh 100,000 to support the treatment of nine-year-old Lewis Baraka, the younger brother of viral “Kwa Mbae” sensation Musa Kihara, who is currently battling throat cancer at Kenyatta National Hospital.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Sonko shared his emotional meeting with Musa, his mother, and members of the TikTok community who have rallied behind the family.

I had the absolute joy of hosting the ‘Kwa Mbae’ legend himself, Musa Kihara, alongside his mother and the incredible TikTok community that has rallied behind them,” Sonko wrote.

Beyond the viral videos, this family is fighting a brave battle for Musa’s 9-year-old brother, Lewis Baraka, who is currently at Kenyatta National Hospital battling throat cancer.” Sonko contributed Ksh 100,000 to the mother for Lewis’s treatment and an additional Ksh 20,000 to Musa for his personal needs.

I also want to commend the TikTok family for their tireless efforts, together, we can find a solution for Lewis. Let’s keep this family in our prayers,” Sonko added.
