TEMS SECURES THREE 2026 BET AWARDS NOMINATIONS

African musicians Wizkid, Tyla, Tems, Burna Boy, and Asake have received nominations for the 2026 BET Awards.

The award ceremony’s organisers unveiled the list of nominees on Tuesday. The event itself is scheduled to take place on Sunday, June 28, 2026, in Los Angeles, California.

Tems landed three nominations of her own. She is in the running for Best Female R&B/Pop Artist, the BET Her Award for her track “First,” and the Viewers’ Choice Award for “Raindance,” a collaboration with British rapper Dave.

Wizkid and Asake picked up a joint nod in the Best Group category, thanks to their recent collaborative work and growing influence on the international music scene.

Burna Boy also earned a spot on the list, receiving a nomination in the Best Collaboration category for “WGFT,” his joint track with American rapper Gunna. South African artiste Tyla was nominated for the Video of The Year for the song Chanel.

Nigerian artists have consistently made their mark at the BET Awards over the years. Wizkid remains one of Africa’s most decorated winners at the ceremony, while Burna Boy has also secured significant victories in international categories.
