In response to the recent wave of unrest sweeping through schools across the country, popular musician Iyanii has announced an initiative to visit high schools in every region of Kenya.

Following a concerning rise in incidents of student unrest, Iyanii will step away from the studio to engage learners directly in their institutions. His mission is to remind students of the importance of education while creating a safe space for them to voice their concerns.

Following the recent rise in cases of unrest in schools, I have decided to visit different institutions to engage learners and remind them of the importance of education,” he said. “My goal is to encourage open dialogue and create safe spaces where students can freely express themselves on matters affecting their education and well-being.”

The tour will see Iyanii facilitating open forums, motivational talks, and question-and-answer sessions designed to address the root causes of the current unrest, including stress, peer pressure, and concerns about the learning environment. “Let’s work together to make learning enjoyable, schools more learner-friendly, and education a journey that inspires every student to thrive,” he added.

Months ago, the musician announced a humanitarian commitment: setting aside 20 Percent of his earnings to support people in prison, a community he believes is often forgotten and neglected.

Hesays the decision was inspired by personal experiences that opened his eyes to the realities faced by inmates. “Most of the time, people in prison are forgotten. Not many people remember them, Iyanii shared. “I once had a conversation with a prison warden who told me about an inmate who had never been visited in over six years because he wronged his family. That story really touched my heart.
