Kenya’s eFootball Console Team Finishes Top 4 in Africa at Fifae Continental Championship 2026

Kenya’s eFootball Console team has made the nation proud after finishing in the top 4 in Africa at the FIFAE Continental Championship 2026.

The impressive duo of Martin and Kibiwot, alongside coach Mohamed, delivered a remarkable performance in their debut competitive season, showcasing Kenya’s growing presence on the continental esports stage.

In a statement, Kibiwot shared the team’s experience, “It’s been a rollercoaster of a week and it all led to the 28th where we battled on the virtual pitch against the best Africa has to offer on eFootball console in the FIFAE Continental Championship. We went out and left everything on that stage. Months of consistent practice and sacrifices to reach that stage all culminated to that day.

Sadly, we fell on the final hurdle during our debut competitive campaign, in the semi-finals versus Madagascar, the eventual champions. Making the finals would have secured us a spot in the #FIFAE FINALS 26, but the stars didn’t align for us. A huge congratulations to both Morocco and Madagascar for securing the FIFAE Finals slots, well deserved for both nations.”

Kibiwot extended special thanks to his teammate Martin and the coach, “I’ve dreamed of these type of moments since I was 13, but being able to share them with you just makes it so much more special. Without you, I don’t think we would have been as calm and composed as we were.”

He also expressed appreciation to Kenya Esports and the Football Kenya Federation for their support. “Thank you for enabling us to get such an opportunity to represent my country with pride and honour and show the world that we can also compete with the best of the best. You supported us before and during the tournament with what we required, and we will forever be thankful.”

He acknowledged FIFAGaming and FRMJE Officiel for hosting a world-class event: “I met a lot of new people, made new connections, and made new friends for life.“

He also sent a message to fans: “Thank you to all the fans who supported us throughout our journey. Whether you were with us from the beginning or just started supporting us during the tournament, we appreciate every single one of you for the amazing comments and DMs we’ve received.”

Despite falling short of the finals, Kibiwot said that this is only the beginning, “This is just the beginning. There is so much more to come from Team Kenya, especially the eFootball Console division. We will keep working and come back stronger, more determined, and hungry to bring the trophy back home.
