Business Anchor Ramah Nyang Ends 14-Year Run at CGTN Africa
Renowned Kenyan business journalist Ramah Nyang has officially signed off from CGTN Africa after 14 years with the network, ending his career as the face of the broadcaster’s flagship business program, Global Business Africa.
Nyang announced his departure during his final broadcast on September 1, 2026, bringing to a close a tenure that established him as one of Africa’s most recognisable business television anchors. He described the experience of tracking the continent’s economic transformation across nearly a decade and a half.
“On a more personal note, this is where my 14-year run on Global Business Africa comes to an end,” Nyang said during his final broadcast . “It’s been fascinating charting the ebb and flow of capital and ideas, even quite literally from the top of Mount Kilimanjaro, seeing what has worked and what hasn’t across this continent over that period, and having your time, attention, and feedback as well. I certainly don’t take it for granted.“
Nyang expressed confidence in the Global Business team to continue covering key economic developments across the fast-moving continent, urging viewers to remain engaged with the program. “The team here at Global Business will continue charting the field of ideas and capital across this fast-going continent we call home. I hope you’ll continue being with them on that journey. And so, for the last time, that’s where we leave this edition of Global Business,” he concluded.
The journalist’s career in media spans nearly two decades. He began his professional journey in 2006 at Radio Africa as a Business News Writer and Newsreader before moving to KTN in 2009, where he worked as an Anchor-Producer on the Sunrise morning show and later on KTN Newsnight. After a brief stint at Kiss TV, Nyang joined CGTN Africa in June 2012 as a Business Anchor and Reporter based in Nairobi .
In a social media post accompanying a video of his final sign-off, the Global Business team captioned: “Final cue from the best in the business. 🎥 rnyang is officially signing off from Global Biz! 📺✨ That’s a wrap on a legendary run.”
