Samsung Ranks Among Kenya’s Top Strongest Brands in 2026 Superbrands Rankings

Samsung has been named one of Kenya’s three strongest brands in the 2026 Superbrands East Africa rankings. The company came out as the country’s top electronics brand and the highest-ranked foreign brand overall, with a Superbrands score of 89.622.

The ranking is based on how consumers rate a brand’s quality, reliability and distinction. These three attributes say a lot about a brand’s reputation and its ability to meet consumer expectations year after year.

The research was carried out by Kantar across 112 categories. It measured how Kenyan consumers perceive established brands, which makes the recognition meaningful because it comes straight from the market itself. For Samsung, the result reflects the confidence consumers place in the company and its products, and the role its technology plays in their daily lives.

Nyawira Muraguri, Head of Corporate Marketing at Samsung Electronics East Africa, said the ranking is an affirming achievement, especially because it comes directly from consumers. “It is a confirmation of the trust we have built in this market and the expectations that come with it,” she said. “We recognise that a strong brand is not built on reputation alone. It must be supported by the quality of what it delivers, the consistency of the experiences it creates as well as its ability to remain relevant as consumer needs evolve. This is the standard we continue to hold ourselves to at Samsung.”

She added that Kenya plays a key role in Samsung’s regional ambitions. “This ranking confirms that indeed the brand is doing the right thing when it comes to the needs of the Kenyan consumer. As the country embraces new opportunities in digitalisation and technology, Samsung Electronics remains committed to bringing innovation closer to consumers, supporting the country’s digital aspirations and creating technology experiences that make a tangible difference in people’s lives.“

The recognition comes at a time when consumer trust is becoming an increasingly important factor in purchasing decisions. The Kantar research found that 86% of surveyed consumers are likely to buy products or services that carry the Superbrands seal. Another 84% said the recognition would increase their trust in a brand, while 81% believe the seal helps brands stand out from competitors.

These findings point to a broader shift in how consumers relate to brands. Beyond awareness and visibility, people increasingly value brands that show consistent quality, deliver on their promises and offer a clear reason to be chosen.

For Samsung, this reinforces the importance of keeping a consumer-led approach to innovation. Across its range of mobile devices, televisions, home appliances and connected technology, the company continues to develop products and experiences designed to respond to changing lifestyles, improve convenience and expand the possibilities of connected living.

This commitment is backed by Samsung’s wider vision of using technology to improve everyday experiences and create opportunities for people, businesses and communities. As Kenya’s digital economy continues to grow, Samsung says it remains focused on contributing to this progress through innovation, connectivity and technology that serves consumer needs.

The recognition further strengthens Samsung’s position in Kenya’s technology landscape and its ambition to remain at the forefront of an evolving digital economy, creating new possibilities for consumers and contributing to the country’s technological advancement.
