ZARI HASSAN’S SON RAPHAEL SSEMWANGA TALKS ABOUT HIS FATHER’S DEATH IN AN EMOTIONAL INTERVIEW

By  |

Zari Hassan’s second born son Raphael opened up about the passing of his dad Ivan Ssemwanga.

Speaking for the first time in an interview, he said,“It was sad because he was in our lives and we did a lot together, we would go in his house on the weekends. When he died, I couldn’t believe it and I didn’t want to believe it. I just kept telling myself this not real but slowly I agreed to the fact that its actually happening.”

He also said his mother helped them to deal wit the pain, “My mother was sad and at the time she was trying to keep us together and strong, so, it was hard. It was something hard for her to do but at the end she did it.”

Raphael says he misses his dad, “I miss his presence, he was nice and he did a lot of charity and helped people.”

He also talked about his mother’s relationship with Tanzanian singer Diamond Platinumz, “I didn’t mind because its who my mum chose, if he was making her happy at the time, I was okay with it. I just went with the flow. At the time I was in boarding school and I didn’t see him that much.”

The 15-year-old says the reason why her mother only posts the younger siblings is because they don’t want, “We tell her not to take our pictures and she respects that, we don’t want to be in the media.”

Why he doesn’t follow his mum, Raphael said, “Because my friends follow me, I just want to keep them aside, be normal and enjoy my life.”

His mama’s advice on how to deal with social media haters is to ignore them, “She says if someone is saying something bad or is being disrespectful just ignore them and don’t give them attention.”
