DNG EXPLAINS WHY HE QUIT BEING A GOSPEL MUSICIAN

By  |

DNG made his debut in the entertainment industry in January 2003 after releasing his first single, starting off as a secular artist. He then joined the gospel industry in 2004 where he won in several awards including Kora Awards.

DNG shifted back to secular years later, sitting down with Cleaning The Airwaves (CTA) he explained the reason why he stopped singing gospel music, “I began to question my faith, why can’t I have a girlfriend. I felt like the teaching I was being taught was not what I wanted for myself. I began my journey of self-discovery, I wanted to understand who I was, what I like and love, what I want and why?

That journey opened a pandora’s box and I realised gospel music was not what I wanted to do anymore. I began to stop enjoying new gospel music, gospel industry at the time had put me in a box, I felt like I wasn’t free to explore and identify my art.”
