GENGETONE GROUP NANE GENG IN PARTNERSHIP WITH CHEMOLEX LAUNCH SLUM CLEAN UP

By  |

Upcoming Gengetone Group Nane Geng from Kibera working on a project with Chemolex, an energy and waste management company based in Kariobangi has been moving from slum to slum through its outreach program #Wajibika that seeks to create a sense of responsibility for the waste problem in Nairobi.

During their recent clean up exercise in Kibera, Chemolex enlisted the support of upcoming artists among them Nane Geng, in a bid to help develop the art, while at the same time using that platform to communicate messages on conservation in a language that the youth would respond to.

Speaking to their artist Manager, Angel Lera, an artist herself, the team is excited about this partnership and what it means for them, ‘Tumefurahi Sana na infact, kuna kitu kali tunafanya kwa studio saa hii…ikitoka, mtaipenda!’

The company is also looking to engage artists who can create fun art pieces from recycled plastic.
