TV PRESENTER ISABELLA KITURI JOINS POLITICS

By  |

Former K24 TV new anchor Isabella Kiruti has joined politics, she says she will be running for the women rep or MCA seat in the next five years for Taita-Taveta County, “I will be running for women rep or MCA for Taita-Taveta County in the next five years, God willing, under ODM, chama cha baba but I also don’t mind being a diplomat. In 2013 after leaving KTN I tried politics but my mother was already contesting for MCA seat in Sagana so I decided to support her.”

Though she still uses her late husband’s name Kituri, she says she won’t be changing it, “After 16 years using the name on TV it is now a brand. I tried changing it but guys told me to continue using my late husband’s name. My son also didn’t want me to change the name plus my husband has no problem with it, for now I don’t know if I will change it.”

Isabella lost her husband 16 years ago, three months after giving birth to their son. She remained single for 14 years before she started dating, “I had closed that chapter; I was in mourning and when he died there was a lot of pain and confusion.  But after 8 years of mourning, I tried dating. We met while hustling and he works for a communication company.

For those searching focus on your work and you will find someone while working. When we met, he never used to watch TV he didn’t know about my work. I prayed so hard for someone who will want me for me and not the TV girl. God gave me that person.”

She is now married and has a daughter Anyango Lukundo.
