SAUTI SOL’S POLYCARP AND WIFE REVEAL THEY HAD A HOME BIRTH

Sauti Sol guitarist Polycarp Otieno and his wife Lady Mandy have disclosed that they did a home birth. Speaking on the latest episode of their reality show, Sol Family, Lady Mandy said that they opted for a home birth because they felt it was the right thing to do. “Honestly, why I choose a home birth, it felt like was the right thing to do,” she stated.

Weighing in on the couple’s option to have a home birth, Lucy who was Lady Mandy’s midwife explained that women choose the option because they feel safe and comfortable at their own houses.

“The truth is, women are calmest in their own home and so for a woman who’s had a normal pregnancy meaning, she is well, the baby is well and everything during the pregnancy has gone well the less we do it is safer at birth,” said Lucy.

To add to that Mandy said she wanted to feel like she could allow her body to do what it is meant to do without any interference. “I wanted to feel like I could allow my body to do what it is meant to do without interference,” she said.

After moments of intense labor, Mandy went to her bedroom where she finally gave birth with the help of Lucy and her husband.  “The moment she said, ‘I can see the head’, those were the most magical words I have ever heard, because I knew, finally, this could be over and within some few minutes this little guy was out.

I would have not done that without Polycarp, in those last moments especially that Saturday morning, there is a strength that he gave me that I don’t think he knows. But we could feel it, we held each other’s hand and as tired and exhausted as I was, I got the energy that I could never explain.” said Mandy.

“When the baby came and I took him and held him on my chest. I can’t forget that feeling, it was the most amazing feeling ever,” said the guitarist.
