I WAS CONNED MY FIRST SALARY-NJUGUSH

By  |

Celebrated Kenyan comic Timothy Kimani, alias Njugush has disclosed how he lost his first salary to a conman. Speaking in the recent episode of Cleaning The Airwaves (CTA), the internet sensation disclosed that he had just graduated from university when he landed a role on KTN’s Hapa Kule News.

After a job well done, Njugush was paid Sh30,000 after which he immediately moved out of his father’s house. “I got my first cheque, which was Sh30,000. Feeling exuberated, I instantly told my father I wanted to move out,” said Njugush.

Alongside his wife Celestine Ndinda, the couple opted to move into a bedsitter along City Cabanas and they were required to pay Sh20,000 inclusive of deposit.

It is here where Njugush gave the money to a fraudster thinking he was the landlord. He later discovered he was conned after the real landlord locked his house for not paying rent. “Having not paid rent before, I was naive and easily trusted the landlord. I was confident knowing that I had covered my monthly rent,” he said. The comedian was forced to raise the money and pay again.
