‘DON’T MEET ME AND START TELLING ME HOW FAT I AM’ AKOTHEE OPENS UP ABOUT HEALTH CONDITION

Kenyan singer Esther Akoth, alias Akothee has hit out at people body shaming her after gaining weight due to her illness.  In a social media post, the singer said she is battling a health condition which makes her body swell. “Don’t meet me and start telling me how fat I am, I am having a health condition, I am swollen due to struggling with sleepless nights of pain, I am afraid to go to bed for I wake up with numbness on my fingers, this situation is scary for me,” she wrote. 

The mother of five also blasted one of her relatives who said she is pretending, “I pity one of my close relatives who said I am pretending. I still don’t know what to tell her. Or I’m I in a boarding school and I need permission to go home? Or who do I even take my pity to? Am I an employee so I could get free time to hang around my family and not go to work? Wao! If there is anyone who wishes you bad luck are people you take close to your heart. Pray for them anyway,” she wrote. 

Akothee was recently hospitalised and through his Instagram page, her boyfriend, Nelly Oaks showered the musician with praises, reminiscing on how she is always fighting for others to have a decent life. “This is one woman who has always been there for everyone and everybody, she goes all out and stops at nothing to try to make the world a better place. Anytime I see her down ,I know it’s that time her energy is won out . Let’s all learn to appreciate Esther Akoth Kokeyo. If you haven’t met Esther , you haven’t met an Angel yet . Let’s all appreciate and thank God for bringing Esther into our lives. I love you Esther,” wrote Nelly Oaks.
