They started gossiping but I said if you’re not in my journey now then you were really not meant to be and I decided it’s my life, this is what I want and I did it,” she said.

The 50-year-old mother of three also narrated events that followed after coming out as partners, disclosing that they had a hard time until they accepted their fate. “Our story came out on a Friday and we thought by the weekend everything will be fine but it got worse. I remember we stayed in the house, sat on the bed and cried and we were like, ‘what have we done, who have we wronged’. At one point, I didn’t have a choice. I was not  going leave the relationship and we decided we are going to do this for us and slowly we gained the strength to stand for ourselves and we are here today,” Musila stated.

Esther says she doesn’t consider herself a celebrity, “I became famous because of him. I’ve had to move in that way but I don’t consider myself a celebrity. I could be famous but those are not caps I would like to wear. I want to do things in the normal way. It’s been hard because I’ve had to learn to shut my mouth when somebody says something that is offensive but I’ve also learnt to fight for myself. You need to stand by yourself because as long as you’re not hurting somebody,” Musila added.
