CHEBET RONO ON BEING ARRESTED AND SPENDING NIGHT IN A POLICE CELL

Radio personality Chebet Rono recounted her arrest that took place last weekend.

In a social media post, she said, “On Saturday I was arrested and I slept in a cell. For 11 hours I was sleeping on the floor. Before you call me a culprit, it’s very easy to get arrested in this Nairobi county please.”

Roho insisted she was at the right place but wrong time, “It’s a matter of right place, wrong time. But surely what I’ve gone through with that cold! Only God knows. If you ever thought in this country you could have a conversation with a police officer? You must be insane. He placed cuffs on my friends and I was like what’s the offence? Before I even knew it, the truck had already pulled up and he just said don’t even waste our time, just enter.”

The content creator was willing to do anything to get out, “When I got to the station nothing was funny. I would have done anything to get out of there.”
