BURNA BOY & AYRA STARR ON OBAMA’S ANNUAL SUMMER PLAYLIST

Former president Barack Obama on Thursday, July 20 shared his list of musicians he’s listening to this summer.

The playlist is filled with the old and new artistes, “Like I do every year, here are some songs I’ve been listening to this summer — a mix of old and new. Look forward to hearing what I’ve missed,” said Obama.

African musicians on the list include: Arya Starr with her song Sability, “Rush last year, Sability this year! They will get familiar with this one,” she wrote. Burna Boy’s song Sittin On Top of The World featuring 21 Savage is also on the list.

Burna Boy has previously featured on Obama’s annual summer playlist with ‘Last Last’ making the cut in 2022. Ayra’s ‘Rush’ also made Obama’s 2022 end-of-the-year playlist. International artistes on the list were: Rolling Stones, Stevie Wonder, SZA and Bob Dylan among others.
