DJ JOE MFALME ISSUES STATEMENT FOLLOWING HIS ARREST IN RELATION TO OFFICER’S DEATH

Kenyan entertainer DJ Joe Mfalme has broken his silence regarding recent events surrounding his arrest in connection with an altercation involving a police officer, who tragically passed away.

Taking to his social media platforms, DJ Joe shared a statement explaining his decision to refrain from commenting on the unfolding events, “This is a public statement solely aimed at addressing the recent developments surrounding the regrettable incident that has come to the attention of the general public.

Given the ongoing investigations and the sensitive nature of the matter, we shall refrain from making any further statements at this time. We deeply appreciate your understanding and unwavering support. We shall purpose to update you once the investigations are complete,” the statement read.

DJ Joe extended his sincere condolences to the family and friends impacted by the tragic incident. “First and foremost, we express our deepest sympathies to the family, friends, and all those impacted by this unfortunate incident.

He reassured the public of both his and his team’s complete cooperation with investigative agencies, “DJ Joe Mfalme and his team have been in close collaboration with the investigative agencies since the occurrence of the incident. We place our trust in God Almighty in particular and the authorities in general to conduct a comprehensive and transparent investigation aimed at uncovering the truth. Once again, we convey our sincerest condolences to the bereaved family and friends affected by this distressing event.”

On March 16, DJ Mfalme and his team were headed home in Kikuyu when they were involved in a minor non-injury accident. Which led to an altercation with officer Kelian before police were called to the scene. The officers took Kelian to the station where he started to complain of abdominal pain. He also started urinating blood, witnesses said.

The officer was later taken to hospital where he had an operation but succumbed to his injuries on Friday, March 22, while receiving treatment at Nairobi West Hospital. The police said they are investigating murder in the incident.
