RITA TININA’S FAMILY ANNOUNCE BURIAL DATE AND VENUE

The late NTV journalist Rita Tinina will be laid to rest in Narok County on Wednesday, March 27, 2024. A requiem mass will be held on Monday, March 25, 2024, at a venue yet to be announced.

Meetings will be held at All Saints Cathedral from 5.30 pm today and further details on funeral plans will be announced later. “Requiem mass will be held on Monday, March 25th, 2024; venue to be confirmed between Don Bosch church in Upperhill or Holy Family Basilica Church, Once the venue is settled on, time shall be confirmed. After the mass Rita’s body shall be transferred to Umash mortuary in Nakuru.” 

A postmortem procedure on the body of the late journalist Rita revealed that she died of severe pneumonia. According to family spokesperson Timothy Njaga, the postmortem was conducted on Tuesday by government pathologist Peter Ndegwa and family pathologist Dr. Michaka.  “We have been told that Rita died of severe pneumonia and we are satisfied with the results,” said a family representative.

Tinina was found dead in her home at Brooklyn Springs Apartments in Kileleshwa, Nairobi on Sunday, March 19. The journalist was scheduled to be on duty at NTV to prepare for the 1pm bulletin but did not report to work resulting in her colleagues getting concerned. She rejoined NTV in October 2023, after working as a senior reporter at Standard Group’s KTN. 

She is survived by her nine-year-old daughter.
