Music Duo Vijana Barubaru Announces Hiatus to Pursue Solo Careers

Kenyan music group Vijana Barubaru has officially announced that they will be going on an indefinite hiatus to focus on their respective solo careers. 

The duo, broke the news in an official statement released to the public earlier today. In their announcement, the pair reflected on their journey together, acknowledging the  impact their partnership has had on their lives and the music industry. “For years, the world has known us as Vijana Barubaru. Two voices, one shared journey,” the statement reads. “Together, we have created music, memories, and moments that have shaped us. It is an understatement to say that we are deeply proud of the greatness that we have built together.“

The decision to step back from the group comes from a place of personal and artistic growth. According to the duo, the hiatus is not a farewell but rather an opportunity to explore their individual creative voices. “Today, we want to share that we are entering a new season of our music careers. As artists and as individuals, we have both continued to grow, and out of the desire to further explore our creative journeys, we have decided to go on a hiatus to focus on our solo careers,” they explained. 

“This is about self-discovery. It is about taking the opportunity to explore our creative voices, discover new parts of ourselves, and see what more we can become as artists.“

They credited their loyal fanbase, known as the “Barubaru Nation,” for the support that propelled them to success. “Vijana Barubaru has given us a foundation, history, and brotherhood. Through it all, you have supported us as two voices on one journey, and for this, we remain forever grateful. None of what we have achieved would have been possible without the love and support you have given us.”

The artists closed their statement with a promise to their fans, inviting them to continue supporting their individual journeys. “In the same spirit, we invite you to experience what those same voices will become in this next chapter we are ushering in.
