Hot 96 radio presenter Nick Odhiambo has declared he will never marry again.

Speaking on the Mwakideu Podcast, Odhiambo explained his decision to remain single, “There is a woman who wants to get married and there is one who wants to be a wife. Those two are not the same,” he stated.

The veteran broadcaster also weighed in on the financial implications of marriage, “The beginning of a woman’s financial security is when she gets married. The beginning of a man’s financial downfall is when he gets married,” Odhiambo said.

He argued that the previous generations had space to navigate difficulties, modern marriages often accumulate unresolved tension.

“People don’t know how to deal with resentment. Back in the day, there was space then you come. But here, there is resentment. Men are told marriage is about what the wife does. How can you do that for 10 years?” he posed.

Odhiambo said he would reconsider if he encountered the right person, “I like my peace. Although if I meet the right person, terms and conditions apply, I can look into it. Someone who lets me be. I want good vibes,” he said.

His comments come two years after he tied the knot with his longtime partner, Annie Sumbeiywo, on April 13, 2024, in a lavish traditional wedding ceremony.

The couple dazzled in matching traditional outfits at the highly publicised event, which drew hundreds of guests, including prominent lawyer Donald Kipkorir. “Congratulations to my BFF Annie on her traditional nuptials to Nick,” Kipkorir wrote in a social media post at the time. However, the marriage reportedly crumbled shortly after.
