Fire Breaks Out at Hill School in Eldoret, Affecting 340-Student Dormitory

The Kenya Red Cross Society has confirmed that it responded to a fire incident at Hill School in Eldoret this morning.

According to reports, the fire broke out at approximately 5:00 a.m. and affected a dormitory housing 340 Form 3 and Form 4 students.

The fire has since been contained. No injuries were reported, as all students were in morning preps at the time of the incident.

KRCS stated that it is working alongside the Uasin Gishu County Coordinator, the Police, the Fire Brigade and community members in the response effort.

The organisation added that psychosocial support is being provided to affected students, alongside a rapid needs assessment to establish the extent of damage and inform the appropriate course of action.
