ISAAC MWAURA’S WIFE NELIUS SAYS SHE’S AFRAID OF GETTING PREGNANT AFTER LOSING TWO OF HER TRIPLETS

Nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura’s wife Nelius Mukami says the loss of two children changed her perspective of life.

Speaking at an interview, Nelius says she is afraid of becoming pregnant again, “We were blessed with triplets but the pregnancy was not smooth, it was the first pregnancy and my body was not used to it,  I gave birth at 28 weeks. The kids were so small, they had to go to the intensive care unit (ICU) and thats when I lost two, we left the hospital with one who is now four years.

It was a journey I was not prepared for; I witnessed my daughter being resuscitated and the doctors confirming she had passed away. I had watched them for three months plus other kids who were born, some discharged while others passed away. That experience changed me as a mother, it took away my innocence of thinking things will be okay if you do the right thing.

Sometimes I look at people they get pregnant and give birth and things move on and I ask myself what did I do wrong. I blame myself for my body failing me, it made me fear going through again, I also have fear of what if I get twins again. I watched my child suffer especially the one who stayed for three months, I don’t want to have a child to go through that.

When I look at my son he delayed talking and walking so I just have fear of going back again.”
