‘I NEVER INHERITED ANYTHING FROM IVAN’ SAYS ZARI HASSAN

By  |

South Africa-based Ugandan socialite Zari Hassan has finally disclosed that she never inherited anything from her late ex-husband Ivan Semwanga. Speaking in a TV interview, Zari dismissed claims that she is rich after inheriting wealth from her departed husband, noting that she inherited what they worked for as a couple. “When we got together we had so much ambition and looking at him he had so much potential so we joined forces and built an empire. Most people claim I inherited, I never inherited anything from that man. Everything he left behind when he passed on, we worked for together,” Zari said.

Zari also open up on the cause of her split with Tanzanian star Diamond Platnumz citing infidelity as the cause of their split,” Me and Diamond had a very beautiful relationship, and you could tell by the way he treated me like a queen and I treated him like a king but I guess all that glitters is not gold. We were in a long distance relationship, me living in South Africa and him in Tanzania. He would fly in, I would go to Tanzania but I didn’t know what was happening and there was a lot of infidelity. You know in the process of infidelity there were a lot of stories of girls doing abortions but this particular one decided to keep the pregnancy but he didn’t come clear with me,” Zari said.

The socialite also disclosed that she started off as an artiste but she did not pursue music due to frustrations within the music industry. “I wasn’t really a video vixen, I was an artiste, but at that time being an artiste trying to get into places you needed to be you had to sleep with someone. I think some of the reasons why I didn’t pursue my music career was because I just didn’t feel like I needed to sleep with anyone to do anything, it just wasn’t for me,” she said.

She also said that she could not really tell how she made it to the top saying that it took hard work and sacrifices. “It took consistency, hard work, it took me late night sacrifices. If you ask me today why I’m successful, I cannot tell you because it’s tiny pieces of work put together that actually put you where you want to be,” she said.

On why most of her relationships fail, she said, “I’ve dated a couple of people and it’s just not working because sometimes I’m too committed to my work and my kids and sometimes I probably put relationships last because I wanna prioritise my businesses and my kids. I know my man needs me but they need to know where I put my energy first.”
