‘WE ALMOST LOST OUR BABY’ SAYS ACTOR DADDIE MARTO

By  |

Kenyan actor Martin Githinji, alias Daddie Marto and his wife, Koku Lwanga, have narrated awful events that followed after the birth of their second-born son Frankie who became ill a few months after he was born. Just a few weeks after they received their bundle of joy, in August 2021, Frankie had contracted Bronchiolitis, a severe chest infection, and he was coughing and sneezing continuously.

Taking to Instagram, Marto stated that the youngster almost lost the battle with the disease, which was difficult to diagnose because he was too young. “We almost lost Baby F is a hard truth we came to face, a bitter one in fact. The lesson we learned about ourselves and the journey it took us on honestly made us better for ourselves and our children. Indulge us on this journey on our latest YouTube Video as we detail the emotional turmoil, the lessons, and the victories therein.” He wrote.

On her part, Christine stated that the baby started developing preternatural symptoms when he was four weeks old. She said that she tried to administer some over-the-counter drugs to tackle the disease, which was unknown by then but registered no success. “At four weeks, I noticed a weird behaviour with the baby. We couldn’t sleep for hours. He was coughing and wincing. I tried Infacol, massage, and bicycle rides, but the baby was still very uncomfortable. It got bad at five weeks when he became lethargic as he stopped feeding. It was terrible.” She said,

This prompted them to rush him to the hospital, where blood tests and an x-ray were done, and it was discovered that the baby had bronchiolitis, which had affected his lungs. He was diagnosed, and he has since recuperated. The couple and the babies are now happy and are thankful to all those who stood by them during their difficult time. Especially Doctor Wahu, who attended to them when they visited the hospital.
