FENA GITU TALKS ABOUT DEADBEAT DAD AND DATING

By  |

In a candid interview with Cate Rira on POV podcast, musician Fena Gitu has shed light into her personal life.

The Kaende hitmaker talked about her deadbeat father and dating life, “My dad is not existent to me. The love that my mum gave my sister and me is the beginning for me. Seeing how much she sacrificed for the extended family, she has been supportive to her kids and the family unit. There is so much love.

On whether she would love to have a family of her own one day, Fena said, “Coming from a single home I understand there are so many dynamics to family. For me as long as there is love in that unit that’s family. I don’t know when I will get to have my own family but I would love to have kids.”

The musician further disclosed the reason why she doesn’t post her better half. “I feel like you already have so much access to my life but I wanna protect what’s in my space and circle. Even with my family I give access to you to know just enough and see how they support me but I have a line no one can cross.

I have been single for four years, I date in between but I haven’t been in a serious relationship. It’s because these last few years it’s been about work. I need to be in a position to sustain myself comfortably to allow someone else in my life permanently or semi permanently. But I love and enjoy dating.

Fena says she tried dating apps but deleted it because of fear, “I downloaded Bumble briefly in New York but I panicked and deleted. Lately my friends have been telling me about their dating experiences on apps so I’m curious.  I prefer meeting people in person and I’m a sucker for love. I’m those guys who believe in love at first sight, napenda mapenzi.”
