Black Ink Crew: Chicago’ Star Charmaine and Family Relocate to Kenya

Former Black Ink Crew: Chicago star Charmaine Walker Bey and her husband, writer and director Nick Bey, have officially made the move to Kenya, trading their Los Angeles life for a new chapter in East Africa .

The reality TV personality and media entrepreneur shared the major life update with fans, revealing that the family packed 13 suitcases and bid farewell to the United States . Upon arriving in Kenya, Charmaine posted a warm welcome message, saying, “Look at this warm welcome we received at 5 in the morning! I wish you all can feel how our spirits awakened from this. Kenya, we are here and here to stay!” .

Shortly after settling in, the family embarked on a safari experience that Charmaine described as unforgettable. In a social media post, she shared, “Today’s safari is an experience we’ll never forget. Watching these incredible animals in their natural habitat was breathtaking, but seeing it through Nola and Charli’s eyes made it even more special.”

The family also visited an elephant orphanage, where they learned the stories behind each rescue. Charmaine noted that some of those stories were heartbreaking, but each served as a powerful reminder of the vital conservation work being done to protect Kenya’s wildlife. With giraffes and elephants being the absolute favourites of their daughters, Nola and Charli, seeing these majestic animals up close was the highlight of their day.

Reflecting on their new life, Charmaine took opportunity to call Kenya home. “One of the things we’re most grateful for is that we now get to call Kenya home. Knowing that experiences like this are no longer just a dream or a vacation, but part of the life we’re building here, is something we don’t take for granted.“
