Zari Hassan Denies Being Female Version of ‘Polygamist’ Character Jonasi
Ugandan socialite and businesswoman Zari Hassan has denied comparisons to the character Jonasi from the hit Netflix series “Polygamist,” calling the claims disrespectful.
In a video shared across her social media platforms, the mother of five addressed the growing chatter online that labeled her the female version of Jonasi, a character known for juggling multiple romantic relationships simultaneously.
Zari, however, said that the comparison could not be further from the truth. “Guys, let me tell you, I am nowhere close to being a female version of Jonasi. Number one, I date one person at a time, if there’s one thing about dating me is you know that is my woman, you can swear over it,” Zari stated.
The socialite, who has been in the public eye for years due to her high-profile relationships shared her frustration at what she described as a pattern of disrespect from online critics. “Jonasi played different women different times, how is that even close? You guys have been disrespecting me for long, I date one person at a time. I don’t play guys, and some of you are just leaving comments because of the few things that you’ve seen here and there on the internet,” she added.
Zari challenged social media users to actually watch the series before making comparisons, questioning whether they truly understood the character they were associating her with. “Have you even watched the series? Do you know what we’re talking about? I am nowhere close to Jonasi. I’m a good woman. I date one person at a time, and he enjoys all of me,” she said.
Adding, “I’m still sleeping with the same guy for five years, you in a week, you’re already sleeping with three, and if it’s guys, he can bounce two women in a day. How can you say I’m a female version of Jonasi?” she questioned.
The Ugandan businesswoman, who is currently in a long-term relationship, concluded her video with a demand for respect from the public. “I’m demanding you start respecting me. Okay, it’s not even a joke,” she said.
