DJ Krowbar Marks 17th Anniversary with Tribute to Late Wife

Renowned gospel DJ Krowbar, has marked what would have been his 17th wedding anniversary with an emotional tribute to his late wife, Joyce Wanjiru who passed away in January 2026 .

The DJ took to social media on September 3, 2026, sharing photos taken on their last date together, a quiet afternoon at the tea farms just weeks after Joyce had been discharged following a transplant procedure. Because her immunity was compromised, public spaces were off limits, so the couple celebrated with her favourite sandwich from Java and spent the day giving thanks .

“The images were taken last year on a day like today. My wife had just been discharged from her transplant procedure a few weeks before (you can notice she is a bit swollen in her face) and it was our anniversary and we were not allowed to go to any public spaces cause her immunity was low,” DJ Krowbar wrote .

He described the outing as their last date ever and “the best date that year.” “We bought her favourite sandwich from Java and we went to chill at the tea farms and thanked God for the many years and the years ahead,” he shared.

The DJ added, “I am grateful, deeply grateful that God allowed me to be so aware cause I really savoured this day,” he wrote. “Today would have been our 17th anniversary. Gosh am I not going to miss this girl! Weuh!” 

Joyce passed away on January 26, 2026, at around 3 am after a prolonged illness. She had undergone a kidney transplant in mid-2025 and later developed complications. Family, friends, and colleagues gathered in Naromoru to bid her farewell at an emotional Ankara-themed sendoff.
