Senator Danson Mungatana and Wife Mwanaisha Chidzuga Announce Death of Daughter Amal

The family of Senator Dr. Danson Mungatana and his wife, Mwanaisha Chidzuga, Deputy Government Spokesperson, has announced the passing of their last-born daughter, Amal Mghoi.

Amal, aged 8, passed away on Sunday, 13th September 2026, while undergoing treatment at Gertrude’s Children’s Hospital in Muthaiga.

According to the family’s announcement, Amal had struggled with her health since she was born eight years ago. She received treatment both in Kenya and abroad over the course of her young life. “We thank God for the wonderful smiles and love that she brought to the whole family whenever she was doing well.”

The family is currently gathered at their home in Ngao Village, Tana River County, as funeral arrangements continue. Amal will be laid to rest on Friday, 18th September 2026.
