STATE TO ORGANISE SINGER TSHALA MUANA’S FUNERAL

The Democratic Republic of Congo’s government will organise the funeral of singer Tshala Muana who died over the weekend at the age of 64.

The minister of culture, arts and heritage on Monday paid a visit to Tshala Muana’s companion, Claude Mashala, where he made the announcement. Tshala died on Saturday, December 10, 2022, in Kinshasa, her spouse Mashala made the announcement on Facebook, “This morning, God took the life of Tshala Muana. May her soul rest in peace.”  Muana is said to have succumbed to respiratory complications after being hospitalised for a week.

Legendary Congolese singer Koffi Olomide eulogised the deceased as a true friend, “My cuckoo is gone… true love lasts for life. Rest in peace Elizabeth Tshala de Koffi….My sincere condolences to his biological family and all Congolese people…. The g.o.a.t,” Koffi Olomide wrote on Facebook.

Rest in peace la Reine de mutwashi, Mamu nationale, mama Tshala muana.” Said Fally Ipupa. Tshala Muana was famous for her songs such as Karibu Yangu, Malu and Tshianza.
