PASTOR DORCAS RIGATHI TALKS PAYING FIRST DATE WITH GACHAGUA

Pastor Dorcas Rigathi has opened up about the humble beginnings of her love story with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, revealing that she was the one who paid the bill on their very first date during their university days.

In a candid revelation, Pastor Dorcas shared details of how the couple’s relationship began, “I paid the bill on the first date. He was very happy. He had not found someone who was talking about buying and being bought,” she recounted.

She explained that her decision to cover the cost was deliberate a way to ensure the meeting remained free from any expectations. “I told him for the first date I would like to pay so there are no strings attached to the dinner or lunch. He was a gentleman; he allowed it to happen.”

The date took place at Sunset Hotel, where Pastor Dorcas took the opportunity to ask the questions that mattered most to her. “I asked him about the family and everything because I really wanted to know why he was so persistent about me and why he wanted the relationship while myself I wouldn’t,” she said.

His sincerity left a lasting impression. The next time they met, he took an important step that would change everything. “The next time I found him at home, he went to speak to my mum. From there, the rest is history.”

At the time, Gachagua was a young man working at the university, doing his best to make ends meet. “He was a man working in campus and making ends meet. There were not very many men in that hall like him, he was a deejay and he was doing a good job,” Pastor Dorcas remembered with a smile.
