BLACK COFFEE WINS BET INTERNATIONAL ACT: AFRICA

South Africa’s top deejay cum producer Black Coffee beat his fellow South Africans AKA and Cassper Nyovest as well as Tanzania’s Diamond Platnumz, Ghanaian star MzVee, Côte d’Ivoire’s Serge Beynaud and Nigerians Wizkid and Yemi Alade to take home the Best International Act: Africa award during BET International Awards held in Los Angeles yesterday.

The deejay shared a video message to his fans on social media stating, “Finally South Africa has a BET Award.”

In 2015, Ghana’s Stonebwoy beat Ghanaian counterpart Sarkodie, AKA (South Africa), Fally Ipupa (DR Congo), Sauti Sol (Kenya), The Soil (South Africa), Wizkid (Nigeria) and Yemi Alade (Nigeria) to win the category.
