Controversial rapper Prezzo opened up about his childhood experience in a sit-down interview.

The rapper recalled a time when her mother gave his dad an ultimatum to buy them a house instead of his favourite car, “I was raised by a single mother, I have two sisters and a younger brother. I was born and raised in Pumwani and we lived in Eastleigh from 1980 to 1990.

The environment there wasn’t conducive for us, people used to get into so much mischief. I remember my dad got some cash, he came and told my mum he was going to buy a Mercedes Benz I was so excited.

As a young person us buying a car or a house I would definitely pick a car and that car being a Benz I didn’t even want to think twice.

But my mom gave my dad an ultimatum either you buy a house and if you buy a car you can kiss me goodbye.

He told him even if you buy that car, chances are you will find the car on top of stones because of the neighbourhood we were staying.

My dad had no option but move us to Langata.”
