MY PARENTS DID NOT LIKE MY EX-HUSBAND, KAMENE GORO SHARES HOW HER MARRIAGE ENDED

Popular radio personality Kamene Goro has spoken about her marriage that broke down a few years ago.

Kamene says after she eloped with her Tanzanian boyfriend in 2014 and it was time to officialize their marriage her parents did not like her man, “My TV career had just started to pick and I met the love of my life who lived in a different country. Fast, quick and in a hurry I left, I remember I gave my employer two-day notice, I was 23.

When it was time to formalize things, he had to come and meet my family. They didn’t like him but because I am strong willed. They knew that this was what I wanted and I was not going to change my mind. My mother was like ‘I am not going to lose my daughter over this decision.’ ‘This is what she wants we support her.’ She ensured that is how it became.”

However, her marriage was not all rosy and her husband stepped out a lot, “People think he was despicable being, he had despicable behaviour. He was actually a really great guy. By the time I left my job to be with him, he was a pretty remarkable guy. I was happy to be his wife.

It was a very tough relationship towards the end, I was very angry about the things he had done during our courtship and marriage. He stepped out a lot, it was detrimental. I didn’t understand, I left my career, my country and my family and shelved two years of my life to be his wife and he did that.”

To make things worse her husband ended their marriage over the phone, “When I left that house, I just knew I was not coming back. I drove to Nairobi while he was flying to Capetown.

I got to Nairobi I checked into my hotel, two days later he called me and somewhere in the middle of the conversation he told me, ‘We can’t be together anymore, I’m about to get into a conference. I will call you in the course of the day.’ That’s how it ended.”
