‘Fighting Demons’ Singer Otile Brown Opens Up on Nearly Quitting Music
Kenyan singer and songwriter Otile Brown has broken his silence on his absence from the music industry, revealing that he spent much of the past year battling personal struggles and nearly walked away from his music career entirely.
Speaking in a radio interview, the award-winning artist opened up about what he described as one of the darkest periods of his life, Otile Brown said, “I was lost, fighting demons. It was a rebirth. I almost quit. I was in the darkest dungeon and it was not easy but I pulled through.”
The singer, known for hits such as Chaguo La Moyo and Dusuma, had been noticeably absent from the music scene for the better part of last year, sparking concern and speculation among fans. His latest remarks mark the first time he has directly addressed the reasons behind his retreat.
Otile disclosedthat his decision to continue making music is because he is passionate about music. “The reason why I’m doing music it because I love it. If it was about money you guys are not paying me enough,” he added.
