Eric Omondi Makes Urgent Appeal After Visiting Natalie Githinji in Hospital

Comedian and activist Eric Omondi has issued an emotional appeal to the public to support media personality Natalie Githinji, who is currently hospitalised and battling complications from endometriosis.

In a video shared on social media on the night of August 4, Omondi revealed that Githinji was rushed to the hospital in the early hours of the morning, suffering from severe pain. Doctors are currently preparing her for a scan, and depending on the results, she may require an operation .

“The woman is the strongest soldier I know. She has been fighting this battle alone, but now she needs us,” Omondi stated. “Right now Natalie is very sick. She needs to go through a scan, and she might undergo an operation. Please send her any contribution you have and support her.”

Githinji, a well-known radio presenter and content creator, has been one of the few public figures in Kenya openly sharing her decade-long struggle with endometriosis, a chronic condition where tissue similar to the uterine lining grows outside the uterus, often causing debilitating pain. She has previously described her journey using words like “hell, disgusting and death” .

Omondi further revealed that just last week, he had been in talks with Githinji about partnering to raise awareness for endometriosis, a condition that affects millions but remains poorly understood, especially in rural areas.

“One thing she told me is that in the village there are many girls who suffer from the disease, but no one is speaking for them,” he said . Plans were reportedly underway to host a major endometriosis awareness event at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) to give Githinji and other women a platform to share their stories .
