‘PLEASE IGNORE SUCH MALICIOUS RUMOURS’ EZEKIEL MUTUA SAYS HE HAS NOT BEEN FIRED
Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) CEO Dr Ezekiel Mutua has denied claims that he has been fired as the CEO of the film regulation body.
Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Jnr had alleged that Ministry of Information and Communications CS Joe Mucheru had unlawfully fired Mutua. “Ezekiel Mutua unlawfully removed by CS Mucheru as CEO after being lawfully appointed by the board. Laws are mere suggestions for this administration,” Kilonzo Jnr wrote.
However, Mutua dismissed the rumours terming them malicious, adding that there is no vacancy for his position at KFCB at the moment. “My attention has been drawn to reports on social media to the effect that I have been fired as CEO of KFCB. Please ignore such malicious rumours. I am not aware of such developments and there can be no grain of truth in them as there’s no vacancy in the office of the CEO KFCB,” said Mutua. Mutua joined KFCB in October 2015.
