Selina actress Irenne Njuguna aka Maggie has opened up to Buzz Central on the challenges of being a mother.

Speaking in an interview, Irenne says she struggles to balance work and family time, “I wouldn’t say I am a perfect mother. Being a parent is not easy, I thank God for our parents because most of the things I know about being a mother I’ve learned from my mother and father. I’ve never raised a boy or a girl, this is my first time. I got my children when I was quite young and my children have followed each other like stairs.

My firstborn is called Chebby and second born Kiprop, he’s literally a handful. Chebby is quiet so I can manage her, but Kiprop is being a boy. I struggle with being a mother. Yesterday I was at Kenswick looking for books on how to parent.  It is not easy because you really can’t tell the outcome. I really struggle because I run my company, I have employees, I am a mother, a daughter, a sister and a wife. I have to do all these things and it’s one body. I don’t know how our mothers were doing it. I salute my mum.”

The mother of two says she has never drunk alcohol, “I have never tasted alcohol so I don’t know how it tastes. But I have friends who drink and smoke bhang so I know how alcohol and weed smells.”
