‘I RESENTED MY DAUGHTER’ JACKIE MATUBIA ON BREAK UP WITH BLESSING LUNG’AHO

In an emotional and candid interview, actress Jackie Matubia has opened up about her painful break up with actor Blessing Lung’aho. 

Matubia disclosed the struggles she faced, particularly around co-parenting their daughter, Zendaya. She shared that despite her efforts to keep Blessing involved in their child’s life, he chose to step back, leaving her devastated. “When I asked Zendaya’s dad to leave, he left,” Matubia admitted. “I fought for the dad to be in the daughter’s life, but he didn’t want to be there. You cannot force a man to be a father.” 

Reflecting on 2023, she described it as the hardest year of her life, a time filled with silent battles that contradicted her public image of success. “I was winning out here, but behind closed doors, I was dying,” she confessed. 

The actress struggled with feelings of resentment towards her daughter, not out of hate, but out of self-blame. “I told myself, you didn’t learn. You chose for your daughter a father who doesn’t want her.” 

Matubia she had already decided to end the relationship before Zendaya was born due to ongoing issues. “Before I gave birth to my daughter I had already decided to leave. It was not working. I was seeing a lot of things happening in our relationship. I was crying because I was mad at myself, I failed my little girl, all she did was just be born. My nanny knew what I was going through and she took care of Zendaya because I could not be able to.”
