MACHACHARI STAR IAN NENE CALLS OUT ONLINE CRITICS
Former Machachari actor Ian Nene, popularly known as Almasi, has spoken out against the continuous negative comments he has received on social media regarding his appearance and self-expression.
In a message shared on his Instagram page, Almasi addressed the hate he has endured since his childhood. “For the longest time, y’all have been throwing hateful comments about my aesthetic. It has been happening ever since I was 12 years of age, and it’s now 16 years later. Commenting on how I look… Everyone feels validated to throw their opinions, like they are the ones dressed in fashion designer everything,” he stated.
Almasi, who has become known for his creative and bold fashion choices, revealed that the criticism has fuelled his clap back. The actor also warned social media users against trolling on his platform, stating, “If you are gonna insult me on my own page, then I am allowed to clap back at you. In my own journey of spirituality and wellness I have learned we are all on our own individual journeys. Someone commented on my nose ring and I looked at their pictures and I’m like what are you trying to say? I had to show some people you don’t play with me. It is important for people to watch their mouths, especially on my platform.”
He encouraged his followers to embrace diversity and live authentically, saying that judgment and unsolicited opinions have no place on his platform. “This is my space where I post whatever I want and express myself. If you come here, come correct. My Instagram page is not a parenting guide. I am not your mother, I am going to do what I want, I am creative and an artiste and my expression is different. I will not look like any other kids. We are all uniquely different, let everyone live their own lives.”
