CAROLINE MUTOKO REFLECTS ON MOTHERHOOD

Veteran media personality Caroline Mutoko has opened up about parenthood and different seasons she has experienced raising her son Kimeu and daughter Nduku. 

Mutoko described the vulnerability of motherhood, stating, “Nobody tells you, when you become a parent, that your heart will live outside your body. It will just roam the streets of Nairobi, Berlin, New York, wherever it is your children are.”

The media personality shared a recent incident after putting her daughter on a plane alone and realised her daughter was perfectly calm while she was the one who was emotional. “She was fine. The problem is me,” she said.

Caroline also had a special message for mums with young kids, “If you’re a young mom, can I just tell you this? Enjoy the interaction you’re having right now.” She talked about how children’s responses change as they grow, from eager “I love yous” back to a simple “Okay.”
