KATE ACTRESS LAUNCHES FOUNDATION CHAMPIONING NUTRITION AND MENSTRUAL HEALTH
Kenyan actress Catherine Kamau, popularly known as Kate Actress, has officially launched her Auntie Kate Foundation, with a commitment to addressing issues affecting children and communities across Kenya.
The foundation’s core mission is built on five key pillars: Providing basic needs, nutrition for all, fighting FGM, menstrual health for all, and empowering lives.
The launch was marked by a collaborative visit to Kumpa Holy Mothers Primary School in Kajiado, where the foundation partnered with Cup of Uji, an organization dedicated to fighting classroom hunger through its school feeding program.
Cup of Uji has an ambitious goal of providing 1 Million Cups of Nutritious Uji to school-going children by 2030, having already served over 17,000 cups to date.
During the visit, Kate and her team shared a nutritious cup of uji with the pupils, “Did you know that a meal in the morning is such a privilege to so many school-going children in Kenya? This should not be their reality,” Kate stated. “My initiative, The Auntie Kate Foundation, alongside other change-makers, has pledged to support and show up for organizations like Cup of Uji to make this noble goal a reality.”
The Auntie Kate Foundation aims to be a catalyst for change by both initiating its own programs and amplifying the work of existing grassroots organisations.
