KHALIF KAIRO DISMISSES CLAIMS THAT WOMEN CAUSED HIS FINANCIAL PROBLEMS
Car dealer Khalif Kairo has dismissed claims that his past relationships were the primary cause of financial difficulties within his company.
In a statement, Kairo refuted the narrative as simplistic, stating that maintaining a woman in Nairobi is cheap. “Maintaining a girlfriend in Nairobi, even if you want to be very generous, you cannot finish Sh200,000 in a month,” said Kairo. “If you’re operating at the sort of business level I’m operating, a woman is 0.005% of your problems.”
Kairo revealed cash flow challenges in the automotive import business were his biggest problems. He explained that the core issues were related to balancing profitability with servicing multimillion-shilling payments for vehicle imports from Japan. “Our biggest problems were cash flow related problems,” he clarified. “We can wake up and say we’ve made Sh5 million in a month, but we’ve got a payroll of Sh2 million. We were also servicing a loan in Japan worth Sh100 million.”
Kairo added, “The bigger things that will bring you down in a company are mostly the normal, usual stuff: expenses, payroll, taxes and things that you don’t have control over.”
Addressing his critics, Kairo claims he was targeted by former clients. “Some of our former clients saw it as a good opportunity to run my name through the mud,” he stated. “I’m happy they achieved whatever they wanted. But I’m even happier God came through and my name has been cleared.”
