EU AMBASSADORS WEAR MADE-IN-KENYA OUTFITS TO CELEBRATE KENYAN DESIGNERS
In a vibrant display of cultural appreciation and support for local talent, European Union ambassadors and EU Delegation proudly wore Made-in-Kenya outfits to celebrate Kenyan designers.
Led by Henriette Geiger, EU Ambassador to Kenya, the delegation marked what they called “#FashionFriday” at the EU Delegation, showcasing bold prints, intricate beadwork, and bright colours. “Team Europe decided to #MakeItKenya yesterday. Proudly wearing Kenyan fashion a tribute to the designers and craftspeople who make this country so vibrant,” Geiger said.
The initiative, which coincided with the EU Kenya 50 celebrations, highlighted the EU’s commitment to promoting local industries and creative talent in Kenya. Ambassadors and staff wore garments sourced from Kenyan designers, putting a spotlight on the growing fashion sector in the country.

The European Union In Kenya announced the event on social media, stating: “Make it Kenya! It’s #FashionFriday at the EU Delegation and we’re wearing our love for Kenyan design! Bold prints, intricate beadwork, bright colours, Kenyan fashion never disappoints!”
The move is seen as a boost to Kenya’s fashion and textile industry, which has gained recognition in recent years for its unique designs, sustainable practices, and skilled craftsmanship.
