IT WAS HORRIFIC, TEACHER WANJIKU SHARES HER STORY AFTER HER SHOW WAS CANCELLED BY CITIZEN TV

Popular comedian Teacher Wanjiku has opened about her horrific experience back in 2014 when her show first premiered on Citizen TV and after receiving negative reviews the station pulled it off the prime-time slot and cancelled it all together.

According to Teacher Wanjiku she has signed a full season contract, “The whole country was waiting for that show, I was waiting for it too and the numbers were good. I announced to everyone on my Facebook page and when the day came, I sat with my family waiting.

The montage ran and 10 minutes later we saw the credits. I have gone down in the history of this country as the first female comedian to have the shortest show on a national television. It affected me for a whole year, it was bad, I was broken, it was really bad.”

The comedian says it took a year for her to recover, “I was not told it was cancelled I got to learn it from someone. Right now, I can laugh about it but back then I stayed home for a year. Finally, I managed to get back again and move on. I was angry back then but now I look back and say maybe it was meant to happen.

I’m the first female comedian and the only one to start a show that ended before it started.”
