CONTENT CREATOR MJAKA MFINE SHARES WORST EXPERIENCE WITH A BRAND
Kenyan content creator Mitchelle Joyce popularly known as Mjaka Mfine has shared her worst experience working with a brand, shedding light on the struggles that influencers and creators face when navigating brand partnerships.
In a recent online video, the content creator detailed the financial toll of a campaign that went wrong, revealing how a promising opportunity turned into a frustrating ordeal.
According to her, she was offered a job to produce videos for a campaign and received a downpayment. Trusting the agreement, she invested KSh 50,000 of her own money into creating high-quality content.
However, the brand repeatedly rejected her work. “My first experience, I was given a job and a downpayment to create videos for a campaign. I invested KSh 50,000 for the content, and they didn’t approve it. They tell you to repeat it several times. There was a time I repeated a video three times,” she recounted.
Beyond the creative frustration, she explained that even when work is finally accepted, brands often impose lengthy payment terms that leave creators in difficult positions. “The payment also delays. They tell you will be paid after 30 days, and you will wait for those days. It is not easy,” she said.
